The words Sinful Nature translates a single Greek word, sarx. The word literally means Flesh, referring to the soft tissue of the body. It eventually came to refer to the entire body, but when used in Scripture, especially by Paul, it has come to refer to the Carnal nature inherent in us that makes us prone to sin.
